I was recently turned on to the documentaries Zeitgeist, The Movie, which was released in 2007, and its sequel, Zeitgeist: Addendum, which was only released last week. The first movie discusses modern religion, the control that the people in power really have over us, and who those people are and how they get it, such as with 9/11 (watch and you’ll understand). Addendum talks about the flaws of the American banking system that is in place, and also something called The Venus Project, which from what I understood is like a giant leap forward to create a new civilization. A lot of what is brought up in these movies could probably be taken with a grain of salt, but maybe not. There is a lot of compelling information put forth, and numbers and figures that would blow your mind. The claim is made that we have enough technology and resources, right now, to where we wouldn’t have to buy anything because we can make everything in abundance, therefore we wouldn’t need money, and wouldn’t need to work. Like I said, some things are pretty out there, and I don’t know what to believe, but everything you’ve ever learned is challenged in these movies.
They are both a little over two hours long, but I’m glad I took the time to watch them, if for nothing else than to get a perspective you don’t get everyday, or ever. Both are available at Zeitgeist – The Movie. They have a site that is supposed to be up any day now, The Zeitgeist Movement, that should shed more light on the info they have to share. Again, this stuff might way off, but I think they are worth the watch.
