Music Picks

This time around, I’m listening to Lil’ Flip-I Need Mine. It doesn’t take me long to find some new music to listen to. Oh well. Anywho. This cd was supposed to come out a long time ago, like February, but there was label trouble or something, and now this cd isn’t even retail, but it still has been leaked. I’m a fan of Lil’ Flip, and this cd doesn’t change that. It’s not the greatest, but it’s solid. Some of the songs on here I heard about 10 months ago, such as What It Do, You’z A Trick and I’m A Warrior, and the rest are pretty good too. I’m A Balla (Flip My Chips), Can’t U Tell and Give Me A Beat are my favorites, along with What It Do. They sound stupendous in my car, and hey, that’s all that counts. Or pretty close.

If anyone else has some good new music that they’re listening to, tell me about it. Because as you can probably see or even know, I don’t vary much in my music. You won’t change me, but it’s worth a shot.

Tiger Football

Last night BRF beat Sparta 33-16. Don’t be fooled though. They looked decent and have potential, but Sparta was rather unimpressive. Sparta’s QB couldn’t hit the side of a barn, and if he could, he could’ve picked apart the defensive backfield. BRF’s QB probably had great numbers, but it helps when you have a receiver that you can just throw it up and get it close and he’ll catch it. That receiver, Jake Millis, had 177 yards and two touchdowns. If he stays healthy, he’ll have a huge year. He’s pretty much the entire offense. They have other talent, but it doesn’t look like anyone will be overly spectacular any time soon. The defense played pretty well, too, but they need work. They should, it was only the first game, but it could come back and haunt this team. They will easily make the playoffs for the 15th straight time or whatever it is, but I’d expect another second round knockout for the Tigers.

So far I only have one team on Yahoo. My team is Trent Green, Larry Fitzgerald, Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Reggie Bush, Laurence Maroney, Heath Miller, LenDale White, Laveranues Coles, Michael Vick, Brandon Lloyd, Ben Troupe, Ryan Longwell and the Baltimore and Philadelphia defenses. Overall, this could be a solid team as is. But in case you didn’t notice, that’s three rookie runningbacks. They are quite possibly the three best rookies, but I don’t know if I can stick with them.

Vacation

So we kind of went on a vacation this weekend. On Saturday, we went to Baraboo for a family reunion. It wasn’t too bad. There was a small zoo (had some bears and a snow leopard), and the Guy Squad came through with a big victory in softball. That night we went to a hotel in the Dells, and then we headed to the Tanger Outlet Mall. It had a nice setup, but wasn’t all that special as far as I was concerned.

On Sunday, we went to Mt. Olympus. It’s supposedly “4 parks in 1!” That may be, but those four parks must not have been that big. The highlight of this park was the roller coaster, Hades. I haven’t been on a ton of coasters, but this one definitely ranks as one of my favorites. I don’t know if it was the fastest one I’ve been on, but it felt like it. There are also two sections that go underground. And when I say underground, I mean you are driving around underground, under the parking lot. The problem with this ride, not to mention the rest of the park, is that there was only one train. Made for long, boring lines. All in all, not a bad place though.

One thing I didn’t get, though, was the abundance of Russians in the area. Pretty much everyone that worked at the park was Russian, and I saw a lot more around town. Apparently Wisconsin Dells is a hot zone for former Soviets. I just don’t get why.

I figured since this is my site, I might as well talk about the music I like. I decided about once a week I’ll talk about some music I am liking at the time. This week, two cd’s.

First off, Rick Ross-Port of Miami. My favorite song is Hustlin, but some other good one’s are Cross That Line, Where My Money and White House. Push It samples a song from Scarface, so that’s solid too.

The other cd is Obie Trice-Second Round’s On Me. To be honest, I haven’t even listened to the whole thing yet, but I still like it. Since I haven’t listened to it all, I don’t have a favorite song, so I guess that’s all.

Today is a glorious day for Black River Falls Track & Field. Well, maybe not glorious. But today they finally started putting rubber down on the track. It’s about 3-6 years too late for me to truly enjoy, but I’m still happy. I just hope it’s done soon so I can test it out.

No matter how old I get, these fellers will never go out of style. I saw that this movie was coming out, and I’m not gonna lie, I got excited. And hey, it’s only over a year away. I just hope Michaelangelo saves the day, cause he’s the greatest turtle ninja under 20 years old I’ve ever seen.
